GreenUps – the new look Sydney Green Drinks is held on the first Tuesday of the month.
Our aim is to help take sustainability from the fringe to the mainstream by providing a fun and accessible informal space where ideas can be shared, connections made and inspiration found.
We’re hoping to attract a wide range of people, regardless of background. GreenUps is about creating connections. Whether you work in business, science, education, design, media, arts, law, government, NGO, IT, you name it. We’d love to hear what you’re doing, or what you think should be happening when it comes to the environment and sustainability.
The night has no formal structure though we got some fun things planned. It’s free. All you have to do is buy a drink or two and help make the magic happen!
GreenUps is part of Green Drinks International – 45 countries and 448 cities around the world with green drinks gatherings. We think it’s about time Sydney made its mark. The international website will give you an idea of the scale of this green movement.

When is it?
The first Tuesday of the month.
Where is it?
GreenUps venues change each month. We’re always on the look-out fro great new spots that fit around 100 people.
What is it?
(And how on earth will drinking help the Earth anyway?)
We reckon there’s a groundswell of Sydneysiders quietly beavering away at sustainability in this big, bad, development-centric city. Maybe you’re one of them. Or maybe you want to do more, and are looking for ways to seriously get into it. If this is you, you’re not alone! There’s more of us out there. (You can find us having a drink at GreenUps.)
GreenUps provide an incubator for ideas, connections, inspiration and support. Our goal is to help take sustainability from the fringe to the mainstream. We’ll organise the bar and the social environment. You just need to come (and bring people like you.)
Who should come?
People with an interest / passion / concern for the environment and sustainability. No matter what your profession. GreenUps is about creating connections across a range of different sectors. Whether you work in business, science, education, design, the media, the arts, the law, government, NGO’s, IT, you name it. We’d like to hear over a beer what you’re doing. Or what you think should be happening in Sydney or in your area of work when it comes to sustainable development.
How much does it cost to get in?
It’s free. You just need to buy your own drinks.
When are the GreenUps for the rest of the year?
Our plan is to go monthly – the first Tuesday of each month. Stay tuned for further details.
